I'm just throwing this out there, maybe something to check. I was just looking around at FMIC's and came across a few theads that Denmah had posted in stating that he had a cxracing intercooler. It seems that a lot of pple are making good power with them, but I saw a few instances where they were a restriction. May want to do a test on it to determine the pressure drop. Just an idea.
I also don't think the merge on the hot side will make a big difference. It will be interesting to see.

im also going to do a compression check tonight just for fun even though the tops of the pistons look fine, we will see if any are broken down below the top ringland.

i also bought a 160* tstat for fun

this brings back memories of when i saw tests for 400-500 hp turbo civics and tubular race manifolds with equal lengths vs cast iron log manifolds,

and how they were within 10hp or so, and the logs spooled faster but the tubulars made that tiny bit more at high rpm.

In for details as well, the 850rwhp cars must be pump e85 gas I would think, I would take it at track before I change anything else

Can you fit a 31x12x4?
I see them on eBay for as low as $120.

We dynoed my car Monday night and ended up having the fuel pump get weak(long story) made 655/600 on my wastegate setting. 10psi creeping to 13psi around 6000. Made power all the way to 7000rpms. This is a 4.8 zo6 cam Ls1 intake e85 eBay gt45 6spd. Mustang dyno. 4th gear.

I think you need a comp test. Something is going on with your car.

If any of the ring lands were broken it would be smoking like crazy.

yeah ive broken a few of these motors, and they usually dont pull 18.6 inches of vac at idle... but i was gunna do a compression check anyway.

my friends 5.3 with a th400 makes the same power with a nearly identical setup and his motor is fine too with 706 heads, ls6 intake etc

It might just be the load he puts on the dyno vs other guys. I went to a diesel shootout earlier this year and there were a couple of dynos. Some guys were running on both (payouts for top pulls) and seeing big differences running the same day around the same engine temps.

He might just have the "heart breaker" you mentioned, but hopefully you pick up some power with the merge, but I'm leaning towards you being right and you won't really see anything. The car runs hard though, no one can argue with that

How do the hot sides compare between the GT45 and the new 80mm turbo?

They look to have the same mounting as a 31x12x3, and
they are 3" inlet/outlet in the same locations, just a bit thicker. Should be a bit less restrictive.

and he has a nice merge, larger intercooler and piping, all smooth transitions, larger motor, "better turbo"

and im only 50hp off with a 5.3 and some of the "shittiest" hot side and cold sides you have ever seen.

this is why i am skeptical.
we will see though i already bought the parts they are on the way

same dyno right?

Also I punched in your ET, MPH, and weight into a horsepower estimator.....

http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php

It says 790 rwhp based off of MPH & weight lol
688 based off of ET & weight

Average real world power is 740rwhp

That dyno you've been going to needs to get renamed "the heartbreaker"!

well 740 makes sense, i made 585 on 18psi

ran 20psi and 125 shot at the track. so close to 740ish i would say.

only other thing i can think of is i have some 2.5 inch piping on my turbo cold side, perhaps i am finding the limits of that, and none of you knew, because no one has mentioned it yet
