Why not take it to the track and do multiple runs to see what works best for your car? In my case I was getting better times when I just left at idle at 3/4 throttle. Let it hook and then hammer it. Was only getting a 1.8 60ft, but still on a stock 10-bolt with 2.73s. 3200 stall. So I am still taking it easy.

ATI D1SC with FMIC 347 H/C,LT's - 565 rwhp.

I have a PerformaBuilt Level III with a Yank 3450 blower converter and 3.23 gears.

The Yank has very nice street manners and feels much tighter than a previous Vigilantee 3200 stall which felt very loose between 35-45 mph in city driving.

IMO - with a loud exhaust you will get tired of a loose convertor very fast so I am happy with the Yank 3450 rather than a 3800 or 4000.

As for the PerformBuilt level III compared to the A4 that I had done locally that was supposedly a built A4 - it's night and day difference. The Performabuilt is much much better. It has excellent street manners but shifts hard when you push the go-fast pedal. Works great with the Yank and D1 under boost or not.

Ultimately what stall you want boils down on how you plan to drive the car.

With hardly any runs on first and only outing, out of a total of 4 runs best was a 1.8 off the brake at idle. Tires were MT drag radials 275/50/15 on Centerline Warriors. But the car was 85 rwhp less then than now because of a larger pulley then with less boost. Boost now is around 9-10 lbs. Converter at the time was the loose Vig. Now I have the Yank and the Performabuilt.

With more practice I am sure I can do better than 1.8's.
