ATI or Pro Torque converter? Go!

ATI or Pro Torque converter? Go!
Decided to upgrade my converter after my trusty Art Carr has served me well for so long....but I think my new HP levels command something nicer. I have been digging around the forum and it seems the guys out there getting **** done: Phil, Fireball, KP and others are running ATI converters. I also seem to always hear about Protorque building great turbo car converters.
Which should I consider and why. Please back up your choice with facts and experience.
Here is my cars cliff notes:
3500lbs raceweight
Twins
Glide
3.25 gears
Needs to handle at least 1200-1400whp
Hoping to run sub 8.50s @ 165+mph
Thanks!

My raceweight is 3400 for X275, I ran 7.53@190 the converter is loose on the bottom, I bump into the beams at 4000 rpm on the footbrake. When I come off the trans brake it flashes to 6300 and never goes below 7200 after the shift. On the big end before the traps my engine rpm and driveshaft rpm are within 100 rpm of each other. Thats 1% slip, It is very efficient. Is the pro torque better maybe but I doubt it for cars at our power level. For half the cost of the pro torque the PTC is a steal.

I spoke with Tim(?) at PTC last week about possibly trying my buddies spare converter.....but turns out it wouldn't work well. He was VERY helpful and also very anxious to build me a custom one (duh, he's in business to sell converters). I was impressed on how much time he spent working with me about simply using a friends PTC, which would net him zero dollars. Maybe I'll give them a shot.

Very nice car you have, any build threads? This is the first time I've heard about it.
