Default Cost for power

Which is more cost effective if you're trying to get to 850rwhp? Procharger (F1A in particular) or a front mount turbo. I have someone that can weld up a hot side for a reasonable price. how much would a turbo to support that HP on a 347 be? i know that for a base kit (no fuel, intercooler, BOV) F1A im looking at around 6700 with an aster bracket. is a turbo considerably cheaper?

id imagine turbo would be more cost effective. PC are expensive

great deal on the Huron kit right now

that and an 88 mm would be sweet

thats still a good deal on the procharger setup too if its new especially. the procharger kit would be easier to install. either way. expect to spend 7-10k by the time its all done using good new stuff.

Turbo. An S480 is capable in that range and can be had, new, for under $1000.

I'm considering pulling the trigger on the Huron Kit this week. What is so difficult about installing a turbo kit that's easier with a Procharger? Other than the oil feed/drain wouldnt it be very similar?

If it performs like the PTE unit does(which I expect) You should be able to make 850 with the new T-netics 7675. Which bolts right up to the Huron Speed kit.

IMO nothing is harder about installing the turbo kit. There might be a few more steps because you have to replace your exhaust manifolds, etc but everything was super easy. Can easily be done in a weekend if you have everything you need

just a little welding and things like that. wrapping the exhaust...little things like that. i agree its not really that hard...but as mentioned does have a few more steps to it. its also not screaming at you the entire time your driving. although i love the scream.

hurons a/c kit is not out yet so right now youd have to remove the a/c ...not sure if you were willing. id rather you got a turbo that did not have to work as hard to make 850 and would give you some room to go beyond a 1000. I have been spec'd the gt50-88. a little pricey though.

x3 on the turbo. i would do a borg s480. can be bought off forcedinductions for $850. that'll be cheaper than any blower any day and have your welder weld it up for you.

I'm going turbo. Putting my deposit on the Huron kit tomorrow. I'll have the pan tapped. Seems like its way cheaper to go turbo with that kit. Oh and no AC for me any suggestions other than an s480? I'm gonna stand up the radiator but still need something that will fit with the kit.

I think your going to have to build a brace support for that Turbo with the huron kit and your going to need a different downpipe. And it wont fit under the stock k memeber so you'd probably dump it out of the fender

I think you should contact Huron and see what Turbo would work best. They have killer deals on turbos right now.

I did and I'm very interested in the 7875 that's on sale but it hasn't been tested. I'll be happy if I can break 800rwhp but I want to be able to lean on it if I'm I want to get that .1 out of it at the track.

7875 is rated to over 1000hp if I am correct and Huron Speed is giving killer deals on them right now. I ended up going with a TC78 (to go with the HS kit) but my build is more budget oriented and I am not shooting for as much power as you (stock short block).

Ill probably spring for the 7875 and just hope that i hit the goals that i want. it seems like it would be a good match for my setup
