Stock Bottom 4.8L w/88mm (Not a Typo)
I had problems with my crank on my 408 setup the week of July 4th and wanted to make the car craft show a few weeks later. There was no time to get the 408 fixed so...we put in a 4.8L that my buddy had lying around.
Temporary Setup:
Stock 4.8L
Arp Rod Bolts
Gapped top Rings to .030
Cam:231/231 115lsa
.660" Dual Springs
Stock 706 Casting Heads
Arp Studs/LS9 Gaskets
Ls6 Intake
Garret Gt-88 Turbo
Ebay I/C
I have about 1500miles on it so far. It is noticeably more laggy than the 408 but that is to be expected. I only picked up 1-2mpg now i am at 15-16mpgs at best.
I took it to the track and made two passes on the street tires (et street radials 315/35r17's). I was spraying about a 60-70rwhp shot just to spool, it shuts off about the 60'. I guess i needed a little more to improve my 60's.
1st Pass: 10.73@137.37 (1.9 60')
2nd Pass: 10.53@139.78 (1.92 60')
2nd Pass Link:
We have a local competition (60-130mph) going with the v-box. My best run so far is 6.09 seconds.

I plan on pushing this setup much harder this month.
I have a dyno scheduled in a few weeks, I plan on letting it eat .
There is a track date in three weeks and I plan to put on the 13.5" ET Streets and see if I can run some 9's.

I am not aware of what the stock 4.8L record is, I saw foose04 make 922rwhp with his stock 4.8L in his truck with a 4l80e. I hope to break that #. I will try to get 4 digits but that won't be easy.
Run 1: 13-19psi, 19psi by about 95mph
Run 2: 15-21psi, 21psi by about 95mph

My bro and I made the 220 mile trip down to Watertown SD to dyno today.
Dyno Results from today...
I made three pulls
1st Run
18psi--->819rwhp/745rwtq
2nd Run
22psi--->908rwhp
3rd Run
24psi +100shot ----> 1060rwhp
The dyno didn't like the noise over the tach signal so we took it off for the last two runs. That is why the missing tq values.
I have to say I am very pleased! Another great experience from the best dyno/tuner I know!
The 4.8L handled it like a champ and got us back home!
