Steve Morris Engines doing my car. Questions.....
I am taking the car to his shop in the couple of weeks. I just ordered and installed my Dana S60. I wanted this final upgrade before we went full power. It came with a Detroit Locker by mistake, I didn't want it as the car will be 90% street car that sees a little bit of road course.
Its a pain in the *** on the street. I imagine at the strip it will work great.
I don't think a locker would be ideal for road course racing though.
Thoughts? any danger I should consider running around corners with this set up?

I feel it locking and unlocking *clunk* *click* *clunk* *click* *clunk* *click* around every corner, unless you get on the gas, then it drags a tire.

SME... Uh oh... I wouldn't give them a dime...
My friend took them a beautiful 600whp street car, looking for a little more power, and they just gave him a ton of headaches. He is now replacing a blown shortblock, himself in a garage.
They seem to understand 3000hp race cars. but wouldn't know a decent street tune if it hit them in the face. Also, terrible finishing details, quality, customer service...
btw, Im assuming you are doing a full build, since you posted in the FI section. Anyway best of luck, but I would run anywhere else.

I have a trutrack in my s60 and it drives great. My buddies locker goes through tires quicker than I and generally driving it around is a pain with the same issues you mentioned above. If I could go back I would have done a 9" though as the lowest gear you can go is a 3.54(which is my current gear) and my setup could probably benefit from a 3.23.

Baker is a good company and I don't think you can make a bad choice with either of us here at Steve Morris Engines or Baker Engineering.

We do our best to make it a positive experience for everyone that calls, emails, or walks through our door. We have a long stellar history with our customers world wide. Having said that, there is a fraction of people you can not please no matter how hard you try and how much you do for them.
