Default Intercooler nitrous spray bars.

I am arguing with some tuners about the improvements of wasting nitrous on cooling your intercooler. Does anyone have dyno sheets of with and without intercooler spray bars. or track times. Obviously any data that shows if they have any effect and how much if any.

Thanks.

They are worthless and dumb. I found some data that they make no power unless the nitrous is sucked into the intake of the engine after "cooling" the intercooler.

I am going to make real power spraying nitrous into my engine and adding fuel so that I know what is going on, not trying to cool my intake temps by a few degrees and blowing my engine because it leaned out too much.

It definitely improves the efficiency of the intercooler and will produce more power.

I'm with you though. IMO it's a waste to not run it through the motor.

Yep that's the stuff I see. 10+ years back.
The amount of time it takes to cool an aluminum core
And the hot ambient air
Plus then cool the air that is hauling *** on the inside of the core.

It just doesn't happen.

Now dump the shot inside. Cooling isn't much until you start getting into larger shots.

If you need cooler IAT's, do meth or water injection

if you are going to spray an air to air intercooler with anything, use water! its been used in AC units for YEARS and works a treat (esp on thicker cores as increase the thermal efficiency as the ambient air heats up slower through the core).

But make sure NOT to spray water on the IC at the track! I about took my crowbar to a kid that sprayed the lane down with water before my run.
