I'm back in the boost game
I know it's been a long time since I posted on here, but figured I'd post up that I'm back in the boost game with my 02 Z06. The Camaro still needs a motor and I'm waiting for a friend to do it, but even when he does, I'll have to figure out how to make it legal to drive in Kalifornia since I moved here for a job.
I moved to Ventura, CA recently and I had to get my Z06 Kalifornia smog legal so I looked around for shops and saw that A&A Corvette was only a few miles away. I've heard good things about Andy and his shop so I hired them to install a kit on my car since it's CARB approved.
We swapped from Z06 heads to 317's which allowed him to go down one pulley size and end up making 10-11psi.
The end result is 640 RWHP on 91 oct and the car drives as nice a stock. Motor is still the stock bottom end with 88k miles on it. Exhaust is C6 Z06 manifolds/cats to the stock C5 exhaust.
Unfortunately my care had some fuel system issues causing the pressure to drop on the top end so I had to get one of Andy's fuel systems where they add a fitting to the tank and run an external pump trigger off of boost.

Smooth predictable power, easier to modulate the throttle. Near stock drivability. I'd have to drive a stock car to see what it's like, but I don't miss my old cam that's now for sale, 226/236/110 .58x/.58x lift.
New cam is A&A stage one, can't remember specs, but it's worth about 50rwhp over a stock z06 cam at the same boost. Car has a very racey sound to it through the LS7 manifolds and a little bit of lope.
Power curve looks like it was drawn with a ruler all the way to 6500, limiter at 6600.
Doesn't feel very fast, but neither did my Camaro unless it was pulling 1.45-1.55 60', sucks getting power jaded... except it means you have better control over the car since you aren't blinded by adrenalin.

Kali is nice so far, much nicer people than Vegas. I don't like the crazy *** loonies in San Fran that seem to drive how the crazy laws get defined for this state aka Fienswine and Paloosi which don't seem to represent the bulk of the state after speaking to people from all over Cali that I meet.
I am employed by a local govt agency and I can tell you there don't seem to be many bleeding heart liberals, just a bunch of well educated people trying to work within the system they are stuck with. Much more laid back here in Ventura, don't have to deal with the craziness of LA except when visiting.
Cost of living is nutty though, had to make sure I negotiated well to ensure I wasn't just making a lateral transition from Vegas.
On the bright side, my daily driver is supercharged and passes Kali emissions My insurance on 2 cars also dropped by > $500/yr and my job is the easiest I've ever had making the most I've ever made as a permanent employee. Living in a small beach town (I'm 10 mins from the beach, not that I go, just sayin so those stuck in the snow hate me, I'm a former PA resident and know what it's like) with weather that's like 70F year round and sea level air is pretty nice. Was here temporarily for a year working contract before accepting a perm position and moving from Vegas, just got my Cali plats and DL 2 weeks ago.
