My understanding/theory is that the more boost you run, the smaller the gate can be. Twin 44s should be fine but if you were running lets say a minimum of 18#+, I would say the 44s might me a little too much......... IMO

You can only have too much if you get excessive (Twin 60s on a mild setup).

The less boost you want to run, the bigger your gate needs to be. With twin 44s you could probably run any amount of boost you want without getting any spikes. More gate = more control.

^ like they said. wg placement is way more important than size imo. i've witness a 44mm in the right location work better than a not so great location 60mm.

Running two large wastegates with a conventional vacuum system (no controller, running off of spring pressure) can make building boost take a long time. The gates will crack open as you build boost and bleed off a lot more gas than a smaller single gate.

There are obviously ways around this, but it is a downside.

that is not correct

1) Unless you are running a CO2 system, you will build boost slower due to "crack" pressure.

2) You have a significantly thinner wallet than the guy with a properly routed single china 44mm.
