Default Stock Bottom End 04 Z06. 9.04 in 5000' DA

Sad thing is she let go about the 1000' mark. I have beat the **** out of this motor for 11 years so I can honestly say it doesn't owe me a damn thing. went from bolt ons, cam, head/cam, heads/cam/spray, and finally heads/cam/blower. this is also a heavy car. i would say around 3700 with me in it.

Wasnt there a run of LS6 engines that had valve spring failures causing the engines to fail?
THis is what a friend of mine told me right after he bought his 03 Z06. First thing he did was buy a set of valvesprings from Tooley.

Yes, the 02-03 yellow valve springs sucked.. They were time bombs.

That's not what caused this failure.. 850rwhp unlocked after a bunch of passes did. My guess is a piston came completely apart.

Car is about 3600lbs raceweight. Blower kit and supporting mods, auto swap with heavy drivetrain stuff, full stereo system and a 200lb driver.

Awesome pass! Very impressive.

Seems about the right time to fail too. My car is nearly 3700lbs and was making very similar power. Rods bent, not catastrophic but she's done.

They always seem to run the fastest right before they let go! Lol! Nice pass! Any plans for a bigger better motor yet?

That's a pretty impressive run on a stock bottom end.
