starting lq4 twin turbo build (some guidance needed)
so im in the planning stage of building my 1999 trans am 6 spd, I bought it as a rolling chassis with a roll cage and suspension work already done, I have a lq4 in the garage and a set of ls9 gaskets I could out on there along with arp head studs and main studs and an ls6 intake, I want to put a set of twins on it, probably cheap ones to start to see what kind of power I can get and this is my first turbo build. my biggest question I cant seem to find the answer to is regarding what cam to get, ive seen so many topics on this and cant seem to find a solid answer for a cam that's help quick spool with a decent lope to it.
heres the turbos I was planning on getting, unless someone has a better idea to start with. I could be way off with my goal 800rwp with this what do you guys think?
Thanks guys

I'm using a 5.3 with flat tops, 243s, ls6 cam, the same cxracing gt35s, and e85 shooting for 700 on max boost. Not sure how far you'll get with the small exhaust wheel on 364ci

What about going with a single setup for cost purposes? Since after reading I'm learning not to cheap out on the turbo, I've heard a Lot about the s475 turbos, but what specs am I looking for to be the most effective in reaching my goal without to much lag

You could run On3 twin 70s. They're about $300 each. Wicked69 ran a 5.99 on a stock 6.0 with them in his 3800 lb chevelle. The GT35s will work well in twins with a proper hotside.
If you want a single, it depends on your goals. The On3 7665 will struggle past 550 whp but will spool like lightning for $340. The Ebay GT45 will perform similar with a slower spool for $100 less than that.
The S475 can be had for $650 and will make 750 to the wheels on a 6.0. You can have the 83mm or 96mm turbine for your 6.0, it depends on how you want it to spool. If you don't plan on going over 650 or so to the wheels, run a very mild cam and the 83mm turbine. It'll make lots of torque and run great.

on the s475, how "sluggish" would the 96mm be compared to the 83mm on the lower end like 2800rpms ? and is there good place to read up on learning all the turbo sizing info that way I don't need to keep asking all these dumb questions, because I need to know how to determine blow off valve size and waste gate sizing and all that stuff to still for this build

I have a 6.0lq4 and went with the s475 83mm turbine and a t4 exhaust housing. 96mm just wont spool as fast and definitely wont with a t6 housing. The 83mm is the perfect turbo for the motor imo. It should spool easily at about 2k rpm's. Also i would go with an ls9 cam over the ls6. Ls9 cam is optimized for boost. Plus its cheap and easy to find. I think to reach 800whp you might need a custom grind cam.
