5.3 with an S484/S485
Just wanted some insight on whats you guys opinion of a 5.3 (Cammed) with an S484/S485 setup would be like. Im actually contemplating about running a shot of nitrous off the line to help with spool. Setup is ran off 100% E85 at all times. 4L80e with a triple Disk circle D and a 2.73 gear with a 26" tire. Truck is 100% street. I may take it to the track occasionally. I am wanting to make 1000rwhp easily. I do have an extra 6.0 Longblock sitting around aswell....

Compression will help some of the lagginess of the turbo. I have a 346 cui s484 t6 turbo and my car is full tilt around 4500 or so. Maybe a little sooner but, have driven it enough just yet to verify.

Get one of those custom S476 from Forced Inductions. They will make you a 1000 HP 76mm turbo and spec you a turbine that will keep spool times in your favor.
Worst case, you get the same turbine you have now, but with a billet 76mm wheel that is capable of moving over enough air to hit your goals.

My S475 actually is trashed.. Shaft got scorched and exhaust wheel got tore up pretty bad. So I pretty much don't have a turbo now. My buddy that is local to me has an S484 ETR wheeled turbo with the V2 race cover that he said he'd sale to me for a really really good price because he wants to go smaller. I forgot to mention that I also picked up a nitrous kit aswell and I'm running MS3pro to control the dry shot. I plan on swapping in a 370 or 408 so that's the deal.... How much could I make with the S484 mentioned above with my 5.3. I'm gonna spray a small shot of the line

You could make enough to break stuff for sure. Unless you’re running methanol and a filled block/heads, I think you’ll run into clamping issues or some mechanical failure before you max out that turbo on a 5.3.
I’d go for it. After seeing how quickly nitrous will light off a turbo that’s “too big”. I wouldn’t think twice about it. 100 shot for 400-500rpm and then shut it off. Once the turbo is “lit” it builds boost on its own.

The billet 485 will probably spool faster than your cast 75 did...
its all the same turbine side...
and you shouldn't need any nitrous to spool it.. especially if you arent using it now to spool the 475

Hmmm what do you guys think about this turbo? It's a 82mm Billet Wheel, T6 (96mm wheel)1.32 ar turbine. Guys asking $1000 for it locally. Supposedly it's only been ran for like 3-4 months. It did come off a dedicated drag car soooooo. Is it worth it or should I just go S484/S485? I just don't want to kick myself for not buying the right turbo ONCE.
