Default 19-20psi boost....LS6 intake just fine...?

Was considering getting the Edelbrock L92 Victor Jr. metal intake.

Do you guys also know if it will fit under the stock Trans Am WS6 hood with no problems...no cowl cutting?

Thanks.

Simple answer, yes.
But if you haven't purchased either, don't waste your money.
Crazy power has been made on stock ls1 intakes by many. Just get the stock ls1 Intake if you don't have any and don't overthink it, seriously.
You'll need to spend money in more important areas with FI as youll soon find out !

Thats cool.

I have an LS6 intake still on my new 390ci...I got it in 2002 when I got my 427ci built.

Thanks.

I'm confused. You want an L92 intake or an LS6?

Do you plan on swapping heads?

I was thinking of using a metal intake of some sort for when I install my turbo kit, instead of a plastic intake.

I was going to upgrade my heads to something better....I still have my old ported LS1 heads from my 427ci back in 2002....LOL

I think I'm just gonna stick with the LS6 intake and get some LSA or LS9 heads.

Lsa/ls9 heads are rectangle ports
You would need a new intake to match that port.

Unless you're looking to go to an aftermarket casting id probably stick with the heads and intake you have now

Gonna be tough to use that LS6 intake with those heads, I would think.

Oops...typing faster than I was thinking. I might buy some LS9 heads from a member here, then use an LS3 intake.

Like you mentioned.....A few people told me to just stick with my old ported LS1 heads and LS6 intake and see what kind of power I make. Then upgrade them if I want to make a bit more power.

But the extra strength of the LS9s will help a bit if I try to go 19-20psi with 4 bolt heads.

We'll see soon enough.

Yea, maybe I'll spring for the LS9s and then get an LS3 intake. BUt maybe just see what power I can make with these old *** LS1 heads first.

Please listen to the people who have made tons of power on bone stock stuff and save yourself alot of money !
Your already ahead of the gave with that Intake and those ported heads.
Just run em!

The goal or question isn't psi of boost, its how much power do you want to make?

I would give the ls1 heads a try. I went similar times/mph on cathedral vs square port. 8sec setup. Actually best mph in the 1/8th was done when the car was SBE with stock 317 cathedral heads on it. But was about 6psi over the square port setup. If anything i would agree that the ls9s might be a good idea for sealing but still id give the ls1 heads a shot first.

I have ran upwards of 26-27psi through a stock 317 head and 22-23psi through a milled 823 square port head. Both on stock ls6 and ls3 intakes.

I'm gonna do exactly as you say. Install my turbo kit, maybe put some new head gaskets on, and see what happens.

I'd like to hit the magic number of 1,000 RWHP. Im hoping with 390ci at 10.8:1 cr, S484 84mm compressor/96mm turbine and race cover. E85 and through a 4L80E.......it will make 1,000 RWHP.

Wow, thats a lot of psi with 4 bolt heads. I should hit my RWHP goal with 20psi....

I don't drag race....it will be a 100% roll racer.

I'm keeping my LS6 intake on the car. It's already paid for and they work great!

I've gone 163mph in the 1/4 with a ton left in the turbo on a stock unported LS3/90mm TB setup. Normally shift just after 7K; however it still pulls to 7800rpm when needed! MAST LS3 heads (380cfm) with a baby hydraulic roller cam.

They have a nasty habit of exploding under boost. Stick to a factory intake if you dont want a cowl/ hole in ya hood
