Default Got the Alky Kit & KB BAP Installed

And man what a difference they made. I will know more once I get her to the dyno & the track, but it certainly feels stronger. Of course I am now running my smaller pulley (3.45" compared to 3.85) and 18* of timing (I was running 14). But even before I swapped pullies it felt faster.

I have the Alky unit set at 50%. Not sure where it makes the most power, or what timing I need, but it felt good, with no knock, and very little traction from the Hoosier DRs. I was surprised it only used about 1 pint of meth on 5-6 WOT tests. (I'm running a 49/51% meth/water mix)

The fuel pressure is now above 50 psi @ WOT with the BAP **** turned all the way up making 13 lbs of boost. It was below 40 psi with the bigger pulley before at 10 lbs. I cranked it up with no tuning to begin with & it was too much. Inj duty cycle went from 90% to 60, and the car ran like crap. Nice to have too much fuel.

NOTE: I seem to have lost ~ 2lbs of boost from the impeller damage for those that follow such things.

How hard was it to install that KB BAP??
I bought the KB BAP, Ractronix plug and play intake fuel system, and some 60lb mototrons to feed fuel to my 383, LT4 AFR heads, D1SC FMIC motor. Should hit 650-675RWHP.

The BAP gets the job done all day. I keep mine at 20% per Kenne Bell instruction booklet.

The BAP wasn't very hard at all. I didn't use the Racetronix Plug-n-play because I couldn't get the socket out of the weather-tight factory connector. So I spliced into the red 12V wire coming out of the relay. Works fine. I'll try to get some pics up tonight. Both installs are VERY clean if you do it right. I have 2 controller boxes next to my R leg & a braided line going into my bellows.

With my 3.85 pulley on my D I had the BAP set at 50% & I pulled 5% out of my PE table. When I installed the 3.45 pulley I just dialed up the BAP to max. I jumpered the BAP to figure out what level worked & then hooked up it's map sensor so it activates with boost.

I can't wait to get my Alky kit in a couple months. Especially after reading this.

Do you have a website for Speed Secrets? I need my trans worked on too.
Thanks

if you have a racetronix with the hot wire kit, its literally 2 plugs you plug inline to the fuel pump and then you have to ground wires you ground to the chassis. that's it. then you run a vacuum line.

i have the msd bap. i run it boost activated , it runs off vacuum when it sees more than 5 lbs of boost it kicks on. I turned the potentiometer all the way up. I have 64 psi at idle and under boost at 12-13 lbs it only drops to 58.

Wahusker do you have pics of the alky control? I met some guys at the track that work for alkycontrol and they convinced me to go with it so I'll be dropping my car off to them in a couple weeks to get the meth!

they said to run straight meth, not mix it with water.
