Default Single Turbo Project!

hey guys. i am thinking of going the forced induction route. i have been looking at quite a few different kits and i think i found one i like. it is from TURBO ZONE. the street-zone kit. i am getting the kit with the tubular headers so i can keep my a/c. here is what i have so far.

turbo kit(t-76/blowoffvalve/wga/intercooler/tubular headers/all piping)
install/tune(jeff creech)
gauges(a-f/boost/fuel pressure)
pod pillar(3 gauges)
42lb injectors
fuel pump
spark plugs

everything comes out to around $9600. does this seem high? or am i missing anything? i dont know a whole lot about turbo kits, but im trying to get more and more information. any insight would help. thanx.

Seems a bit high, but I built mine myself......finding deals where possible. (I also had to remove my A/C though)

I am tuned by Creech too. Are you in NC? I'm down by the coast.

the price seems right since u got install in there. I woudl definatly NOT get 42# injectors. Dont even think about them. Get 60's and be done with it. The 60's wont handle the power u can make with the t76 but atleast they can get u to 750ish with out issue.
Also u need to get atleast 918 springs and hardend pushrods. The springs make sure that teh valves can close with the added pressure and the pushrods are prolly bent if ur still using stockers. They bend over from the smallest mistakes.
U should also get a twin intank setup for fuel. If u jstu put 1 pump in now ull be limited to about 500 rwhp. And if that is all u wanna make then get a smaller turbo so that it will spool faster. But i woudl imagine that u wanna make more then that. U dont have to do the feed lines and rails and FPR atm but it would be a good idea.
Make sure all ur spark plug wires are in great shape if u have aftermarket ones and replace them if they are stock. They need to get a hell of a spark in there so that it dont get blown out by the air movin around.
Ur gonna need a boost controller unless u got a tiny *** spring in there.
I cant think of anythign else atm so GL to ya man

thanx man. im not really looking for the most power output right now. im still going to have a stock rear and tranny for now. im not going to race anyone from a dig anyway, i might do an occasional roll race but other than that... its not a track car or a daily driver, just pretty much a cruiser. i only drive it a handful of times a month. i think 500rwhp will be fine for now. i am sorry i made a typo, the turbo is actually a t-67.

Yeah, a 67 trim sounds more reasonable for your build than that 76! I have a 70 and am pretty happy with it. +1 for forget 42lb injectors if you plan on increasing the boost much.

Even if u stick with 500 rwhp for ever dont get 42#er's. its only a 100 or 2 more for the 60's and they are much much better. I made 531 rwhp on the 42's and it was the JAGGED edge of usable for the injectors.
U mentioned in ur reply that ur not lookin to make the most power atm. Im assuming u use the words "right now" to say that u plan on doin it in the future. It really is a waste to do things 2 times when u can pay just a little more now. the 255 intank pumps are 120 a piece so thats onle 120 extra to get 2 of them and then teh little y block dont cost much to make them work and then u have enough fuel outta the tank for ALOT more power. Ya dont need to worry bout the lines and rails and FPR atm but atleast dont do **** 2 times that u can do correctly now.
Ur choice but speakin for experience, U will REALLY hate it when u do it oer later and have used parts sittin aroudn that noone wants. Like a inline pump and 42's. GL man

oh no, im definetly goin to go with the 60lb injectors now. i do plan on turning up the boost down the road, but not til i forge the internals. and get a rear. i understand where you are coming from with the whole do it right the first time. i was just letting you know that im not looking for a great amount right now, 500-550rwhp will do fine for me now. a big difference from 360-370rwhp now. now, will my tranny be able to handle that kind of power when im banging the gears?

You have allot more to worry about then just your springs and pushrods... is your lower forged and built for boost?

The springs and PR's will allow you to run your motor to a little higher RPM. I wouldn't run too much more than 5-6psi on a stock motor without a good tune, gas and possibly some alky.

The 60 lb.hr. injectors are good for 115hp each, so you're safe at 80% duty cycle at about 725-735rwhp.

Depending on where you live, try to stick with 91 - 93 octane. If you're going to run even higher, you'll need to adjust a few things. This includes running race gas valves in your waste gates.

i was wondering how much power my clutch would be able to handle. although i wont be running it all the time. its not going to be a track car, just a cruiser when the weather is nice. so hopefully the clutch will hold up a lil longer.
