Cats with Rear Mount?

Cats with Rear Mount?
For you guys who are running cats with a rear mount turbo, what have you done to prevent turbo damage in the event of one of the cats breaking apart? Is there some sort of screen that can be installed pre-turbo somewhere in the exhaust system? Thanks!

Watch and pray! I just replaced mine last night even though my stockers weren't really failing. I think I will plan on getting new ones every couple of years no matter what! If it was a Ferrari we would have much more painful maintenance then that! and possibly have less power. Stock replacements are ~$550, performance about $200 more, both with no need for labor, couple of hours.
I put on performance ones with a x-pipe to try to get rid of the popping on decel. and it's mostly gone, just one straight burble. Also I didn't want to go through my stock ones so I could have them around later if I need them?

if your tune is right you should be fine.
there is indeed always that chance but really with all the STS systems out there I have yet to read about somebody toasting a turbo with piece of cat. Not to say I won't read about or experience it myself one day but so far so good.

i took my cats off for fear that this might happen. originally i had mti race cats on there that costs me 480, if i remeber correctly. my car was quiet before when i had cats and now its just a litle louder. but the entire exhaust is wrapped now, so im good to go
