Crank case ventilation on blower motor

Default Crank case ventilation on blower motor

the title says what i am looking for but I will exlpain my situation....I have 355 LT1 pushing about 15 psi with a d1sc. The problem I am having is oil leaks from random places when I boost. The problem I think is lack of proper ventilation to the crankcase. Anyone have similar problems? looking for advice on how to vent my crankcase

mine is setup to remove the oil cap and put a filter there and there is another filter on the other side towards the back of the head.

search for PCV setups on here using the search button. It's talked about almost on a daily basis in some new thread.

k&n makes a kit for the lt1 cars, just remove oil cap and replace it with a #85-1210, then clamp a open element filter on it. that will let it breather really well.

Casper electronics makes a screw in breather that goes on the oil cap. It runs about $40 on our site.

take the hose from the valvecover and run it to the suction side of the blower..that will take care of the problem.

thats what I did on mine and it fixed it, mine use to push oil out of the bottom of the dip stick right onto my headers.

ttt..... Is it bad to have the oil in the intake side? I don't mean to sound dumb but wouldn't it ruin sensors like the ait or would that not be an issue.

With 1 hose on 1 valve cover, mine's still doing just that. Yesterday, I added a 2nd hose on the other valve cover, both going to the inlet of the compressor. Hopefully this will solve it.

It's not the greatest thing. It can carbon up the chambers and also foul the intercooler. It won't hurt the sensors though.

Exactly....... you shouldnt be pulling oil into your motor......
Most do the breather setup by its self or they do a breather catch-can setup that catches the oil and lets the crank case vent.... it doesnt matter what FI setup your always going to have blowby.....
You can do rubber fuel line/hose off each valve cover to a catch can or go beyound and use braided line....

I had a catch can on mine a line from each valve cover to the can then I took the filter off and ran a line to my intake tube so it would catch any extra oil, I never had any problems with oil even in the catch can tho.

ttt after everyones help....thank you, I think the way to go will be to attach a hose from the intake side of the blower to a catch can. Then I will attach the hoses from the valve covers to the catch can or a special air compressor water removing jar...In effect the oil will drip down inside and the intake will suck the unwanted oil pressure out of the crankcase resulting in Positive Crank Ventilation. If anyone thinks that this will not work Im still open for advice.

Is it better to pull the pressure out using a vacuum line or let it vent like Kyle has shown with the breather catch can?

why not just let the vaccum pump just push the air out to atmosphere??? why would you have to let intake pull it if the vaccum pump is pulling it??? if anyone can explain why this system wouldnt work???? just a noob question

That's what I did on my car. Works great. Cept I used thick fuel hose & don't hve a separate breather on the catch can.

BTW, that's a really nice setup (pretty)... Mine's redneck engineered compared to that

will the screw on filter that epp sells eliviate the problem, will oil still find its way through that filter?

first a vacuum sucks not blows lol.

second too much vacuum in a motor will pull oil up and fill the catchcan up with oil, to a degree it has to be vented, you dont want too much vacuum.

my friends racecar does that after he makes a pass, we're trying to figure out a way to help vent the motor out cause its sucking oil. but he's spraying a big shot.
