Anywhere from .30 to .35. If it starts to miss at rpm then tighten the gap a bit. I've never had a problem with it but have seen spark blowout on another turbo car and it sucks.

my STS manual says .035 FWIW. Not that it matters, because a lot of people adjust to their own setups

.030 should be ok for that boost level. If it blows the spark it, just have to redo them.

BTW, don't run platinum plugs, run some NGK TR6's if you can find them, or another copper plug 1 heat range colder than stock.

I gapped them at .030 and they are tr6's. WIll do the fuel pump tonite, trap door style. When can you do the initial tune?

if you don't want to do the trap door... its really not hard to drop the tank out

not to barge in on this, but what about using an irridium plug??
I'll be pushing about 700 to the wheels (under about 14 lbs boost), so i was looking to maybe go a little colder than a TR6, to a TR7... but they only make this in a irridium plug (or so says the book at the auto parts store) ... Or do i not need to go to a plug that cold?

You do need a colder plug but theres a few different ones that people use. Do a search for TR plugs in that range, youll see tons of threads blabbering back and forth about them

If you ask the guys at STS they will say .028 to .030 for a gap. I have mine gapped at .029.

And from what I'm told, you can't gap irridium plugs. And if you can, you can't gap them to the gap needed for forced induction.

.030 to .035 is fine for normal boost.

.027 - .030 is better for boost+methanol.

I forgot to gap my plugs on my new setup. I was running NA for a while and recently went back to a turbo set-up. My plugs were gapped at .050 for NA, and I was getting major blow out under boost. I gapped them back to .030 and all is fine. I'll be replacing the old plugs with TR6s this weekend.

I at first had mine gapped at .035 and it was backfireing, lowered down to about .030 still backfiring under boost not as bad now though, should I gap them closer?

I have always used 0.30 iridium (not 0301298347501129385893719849283761983625) with success.
