e85 pump for turbo car question
I'm building a 370 with a 91 on the front of it and trying to decide on my fuel system... since the beginning of the build I've wanted to go with an aluminum sumped tank with an aeromotive a1000 and 80# injectors, but I think i wanna go e85 now.... since it uses about 30 percent more fuel to run e85, whats going to be a good pump and injector to do tha job.... hoping to put somewhere are 750-800 to the tires

i knew the a1000 would be fine for race gas, but wasn't sure if it would support the extra 30 percent... and i also talked to a guy saying he was maxing out 80s making around 700 i think making about the same power so i figured i would need bigger than a 90 to be safe... I'm going to be running the stock 2000 pcm as long as i can

If you are shooting for around 800 rwhp with the turbo you will need appprox 120 lb injectors with a driver box for E85 and a larger pump then the A1000. Then again your motor and turbo would support quite a bit more than 800 rwhp. The 120s are good to around 900-1000 rwhp on E85 depending on your fuel pressure.

I went with a mechanical pump to squeak a little more out of the 120# injectors.
I am shooting for similar power out of my setup on E85 BTW.
It is being tuned this week, so I will let you know how it turns out.

V-Series Tech is planning an E85 TT set up for big power, and is going to use the new Magnafuel continuous duty 2000 HP pump, looks like it will be fun. (160# injectors/driver box)
I have to ask as others have, why such a low power goal? You could do that number on pump gas...and that monster turbo would barely be working at that power level.

I'll push this motor as far as it can go...this is my first turbo build and i'm kinda worried about the patriot heads and the fact that the block isn't o-ringed...I got a good deal on the short block assembled and already had the heads, but i wanna build the rest of the setup to where if i decide to go with a stronger motor i won't have to change EVERYTHING.... if this motor makes a good bit more than that before pushing water and i'm happy then i'll leave it alone ....

couldnt u use 3 walbro's? I made up an alum. hat/ bottom bracket for mine. I would think 3 255'S would support 800 whp. if 2 are good to about 700, 3 should be good to 800 no problem. my stock fuel level still works too!

i would rather not have to worry about 3 pumps goin bad compared to just one ... i used to work at a hot rod shop and have built an aluminum tank for a roadster so i'll take a shot at building tha tank myself

I know mighty mouse is using 2 still i think ... but he's running race gas and a methanol... I may think about running 3 walbros for now and selling that setup later for a big external..i think i can get away ALOT cheaper doing the walbros right now and if i'm not happy with it i'll change

the more i talk arond to people the more power i expect to make.... espescially once i go to better heads and better intake so i plan on really pushing this thing now... i may try the 3 walbros for now.. but i don't wanna have to be buying more injectors, so I'll go with some big injectors first... can you get too big of an injector... i noticed the bosch 160s on forced inductions site for 499 i think ...
