Default Help with walbro 430LPH install

My buddy and I are currently installing a walbro 430LPH pump (with racetronix hot wire kit) in to my trans am. I haven't been to his place to see what he's actually talking about because he pulled everything out after I left his house (he's out of town for work right now too and my car is in his garage). But he said that he doesn't know how the fuel sending unit gets wired into the new bulk head fitting that needs to be used. Because it was wired in to the old bulk head fitting. I asked someone already and they said that they think something needs to be repinned but wasn't sure because they had a shop do the install.

Can any one shed some light on what to do?

Thanks,
Alex

Curious too. Did you confirm that the racetronix hotwire kit will work with the 430LPH pump? Seems like the consensus on here from various vendors is that it will not.

They make the harness for it fpwh-017. It does plug into the harness and what not but according to my buddy things are going to need to be repinned and wires ran. He gets back this weekend so I can finally see it in person.

Keep me updated. If it works, and it's relatively easy to do, then that would be a great option.

I'm doing the EXACT same thing today. Waiting for UPS to bring my wiring any minute. Here is what they said I should order. But my pump is the smaller 400lph turbine F90000262.

This fuel pump wiring kit contains the following items:
•Racetronix Fuel Pump Upgrade Harness FPWH-017 - Provides a heavy-duty power source for high-performance pumps (up to 30 amps). This harness adapts the older 150-series connector to the new 280-series connector without the need for external adapters or splicing.
•Fuel Module Electrical Bulkhead Connector Kit RCS-028 - Direct-fit 30-Amp rated connector replaces factory 14-amp unit.
•In-tank Teflon wiring harness ITWH-023 - Direct hookup to the fuel pump's connector, NO SPLICING. Compatible with Walbro, DeatschWerks Aeromotive Stealth* and other aftermarket fuel pumps. (Positive terminal on left when pump's outlet is held at 12 o'clock.)

1 Fuel Pump Wiring Kit MP150/280, Walbro 1 1 EA $79.99 $0.00 $79.99
2 Fuel Pump Harness MP150S-4M > GT280S-4F 1 1 EA $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
3 Connector, Fuel Bulkhead 4-Way 280/150 1 1 EA $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
4 In-tank Harness, 150/280, Walbro Pumps 1 1 EA $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
5 Fuel Tube, 125 x 8mm, Natural 1 1 EA $2.60 $0.00 $2.60
6 Fuel Tube, 150 x 8mm, Natural 1 1 EA $2.65 $0.00 $2.65
7 Filter Sock, 100x40mm 11mm ID, G-D 1 1 EA $5.00 $0.00 $5.00
8 Filter Sock, In-tank Fuel Pump 1 1 EA $6.08 $0.00 $6.08
9 Pump Mount Grommet, DCS Pumps 1 1 EA $6.60 $0.00 $6.60

I'll be posting a bucket build thread in an hour.

Looking forward to your thread. If all goes well, I may just get everything you go. When you say, "this is what they said I should order", who is "they"?

Racetronix. But there was no mention of what to do with the sender wiring but it's supposed to fit with no cutting. Will see in an hour or 2.

Cool man, thanks. I've got other questions, but posted in your thread as to not jack up the OP's thread.

Looks like the pins will have to be moved to the new in tank plug

Wasn't too hard to do. Practice on the old pump wires first. Get a paper clip or sharpen an awe and stick it about 3/16ths into that little hole above where the plug goes in and pull the wire out the back
