Shouldnt hurt anything as long as u make sure u use unleaded race fuel. The leaded fuel will take out ur O2 sensors.

If you don't have a way to increase the timing then I don't even see a point in doing this???

For safety reasons. Fuel could go south... lean... detonation... push a head gasket, maybe even motor damage...

lol, you are wasting a bunch of money of you are running race gas on a stock motor. unless you are spraying it or have a way to bump up the timing, just use 93 pump. it actually might slow you down with the higher octane.

Yea it would be just a waste of money because as others are saying without additional timing it will only hurt your 02's

I wouldnt do it if you cant increase timing or are not running nitrous. if you do, there is a possibility of having the car go slower than if you were on just pump gas.

"racing gas" doesn't hurt your O2's it's the lead, not high octane. And VP Racing Motorsports 101 is UN-Leaded. C16 and other higher octane fuels are leaded, these do in fact overtime damage O2 sensors. I've had at least 200 gallons of C16 through my race car and have yet to fry a single O2 sesnor. Even my 2 sensors for the F.A.S.T. unit.... still good. Although, while the car is sitting between races, I will pull all the plugs along with the O2's check them, and clean them and usually re-install a day or two before the races. I clean them with Wurth brake cleaner. Seems to be doing the trick... and I'm still very consistant.

I think I would rather go the 'safer' route when racing... from 94 to 101 octane. you're not going to see even 1 mph difference in trap speed with the stock tune. Try it, you'll see... The only real test I have ever done was my own car and noticed only a 6hp loss. I would rather spend the extra $20 or so when taking my car to the track for a few runs than even taking a slight risk of getting some bad fuel from a service station. I sell the VP Racing Fuel's MotorSports 101 and Street Blaze for $6.33/gal and $45 for the 5gal with can. You guys act like it's not worth it... I say it's VERY cheap insurance.

You are not going to blow up your stock run-of-the-mill LS1 at the track on pump gas. Hell, GM tests these motors on regular 87 w/o them blowing up. You will be wasting time and money on higher octane gas AND WILL run slower. I've seen this on more than one occasion at my local track when some dumbass thought their LS1 would run faster with race-grade octane in their tank.

If you understand how the combustion cycle works and what octane ratings actually mean....you'd know not to fill up with higher octane.

On a stock motor it is a waste. You can lose power by doing that. For optimum power you want to keep your car near the edge. You actually would want to use 93. Just increasing your octane isn't gonna make you faster. Increasing your timing does and higher octane just makes it safe.

Wasting your time on stock timing and or stock motor (internals)

I run a mix of Sunoco 94 and Sunoco 110 in my car when its not racing on the bottle and straight 110 on the bottle. I might be going to VP 110 though.

You have no need for it honestly unless you plan to play with the timing.

You allways want to run the lowest octane you can get away with and still be safe.

Adding octane to a car that does not need it typicaly slows it down or does it no good.

I would never run premium in my 94 Sunbird but would never run under 93 cruising my BBC.
