Default Q's for strange s60

My 10 bolt rear end is headed to the crapper soon making clicking and poping on hard acceleration. I'm guessing the posi is going south. After much research I've decided on the Strange S60. Where can I find the best price on one? Do they ever go on sale? Also, it says I will need a driveshaft... how much and where to find one? Thanks,

James

The 9" is over $3k. This car will never have more than 500rwhp, and I have no intention of quick changing gearsets. My budget is $2500 for the rear and driveshaft. The S60 works with the stock Torque arm I believe, which is in there now. So who has the best deal on these parts? Is there ever sales on this stuff or group purchases to save a couple hundred bucks?

Thanks,
James

I got mine through Byunspeed for a pretty good price. Driveshaft was added to the deal when I talked to them. If you do get a S60, it comes with EVERYTHING you need to install it right down to gear oil. The install really wasn't that bad. The do end up in the Group Purchaces from time to time, but you could be waiting awhile for it that way. The one thing I really ever see on any forum is damn my S60 took a crap. It may be heavier, but can take the biggest beating without having to beef it up at all.

Default S60

I've had mine for over a year and 0 problems, Bolts right in.
Got mine through a special and was dropped shipped to the local UPS freight center.

BTW less % of power loss vs the 9inch.

As far as options go-
1. Is it worth it to upgrade the yolk to chrome-moly for $50?
2. I obviously want the better cover for the $45 from the chrome one.
3. With the strange driveshaft- the MIG shaft is $80 cheaper, but how much power before it will break?

If you plan on running a bottle or going FI, then the chromemoly will be worth it. If you plan on being below the 600whp range, then you can get away without the upgrades. If the car is going to see some really hard drops at the dragstrip above that power level also, then I would say get them for sure.
