Default Nine Inch install questions

I'm waiting for my moser 9" housing and axle package to arrive and trying to gather all the parts I'll need to install it.

For the bolts that hold the 3rd member to the housing, are those built into the housing? Or do you just use regular bolts?

I found this on Summit: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AR...3005/?rtype=10

Are studs like these what I will need? If so, how many does it take?

Also, does the housing come with a built in vent or will I need to get one to put in?

And for the bracket that holds the emergency brake cable, is there a place to put this on the 9" housing or what do you do with that?

Not sure but think the moser axle and housing package should come with studs and nuts to bolt in the 3rd member. If not the link you posted looks like it would work fine, A 9 inch takes 10 studs and nuts to install. Again dont know if the vent comes installed if not should be included in the package and you drill and tap and install the vent. And the e brake bracket goes around the lower control arm bracket and should work fine. zip ties are your friend also. hope this helps a little

Cool thank you.

Should I just install the vent in the axle tube or route it up further with vacuum line?

Also, is it ok to use synthetic gear oil since I'm running a spool? What weight is best? 75w-90? 75w140?

I would install it on the right side axle tube (passenger) and run a hose up and tie it to the body or something. For break in i would use a quality conventional oil for 500 miles. As far as weight i would ask who built the 3rd member. I used 75w140 but 75w90 would be fine also. Just use a conventional for break in and switch to synthectic if you perfer after the break end period.

Moser runs the vent line out of the driver side axle. It works out nicely to run vacuum line from the supplied fitting up to the driver side fuel tank strap, and tie it off there.

These installation instructions may help you out. Bob
