Spools on the highway while raining....
I've read all the stories about parking lot manners, tire wear scenarios etc. I'm really curious/worried about highway manners especially during rain.
For example:
Long sweeping turns pouring rain....
Sharp on/off ramps in the rain....
What are your "scare stories" ?? I'm considering going spool in my 9" since my posi is toast, but I DD my car. I'm not worried about it walking out sometimes, when I make it. But I DONT want to have it just glide out from underneath me during a tight turn.

Wavetrac. I have a spool and if it was my DD I would never consider it a choice. I would never trust a spool in rain. I have driven home and got caught in the rain but it wasn't a hard rain and I drove slow going through town.

I'd love a wavetrac...except I can't afford to let my car sit and drive my truck for the next month while I save for it...lol
I have a few days until I get my trans back before I really need to make my decision.

I drove in a steady rain with a spool and M/T drag radials on a 2 lane highway that had a lot of curves in it. I kept my speed down at 50 mph and had no problems at all. Bob

I have heard the complete opposite of these guys LOL
A friend of mine has a notch back fox body with a spool and he got caught in the rain a few years ago, went around a corner and the *** went out from under him and he put the car into a guard rail. Messed the side all up, he turned around and went home and almost had the same thing happen again. He doesn't hardly ever drive the car on the street now.
I almost bought a spool for my 8.8, but I got a 31 spline trac lok for $50 so I went that route.

spools are fine as long as your on good tires(no dr or slicks) in the rain.ive ran a spool in my car for two years, and ive had a welded rear in my samurai for about 4 years never one problem.now whats scary in the rain is a detroit locker,**** lockers.
