Default 9" and ABS

Its understood that its almost impossible to get abs to work with the 9".. There was a write up on how to de-activate the abs by removing selected fuses and by splicing in a ground onto the light green wire that went into the EBCM(electronic brake control module). THe write up was done referencing 95 and 96 model years.... does anyone know if the same general write up would work for 99+ 4th gens? Im going to get the 9" spool so I need to know how to deactivate the abs, or is that something that can be done thru ls1edit or something.

yes its always on. I pulled the dashboard apart and put a piece of electrical tape behind the abs inop light (between the bulb and the back plate) to block the light so it don't "illuminate" anymore

Here's why you can't do 3 channel ABS on a 9":

The reluctor has to get mounted next to the ring gear in the center section. The sensor also goes above this piece. On a 12-bolt, this is no problem. The center section is a nice long piece which stays put. On the 9" the center section is removable and doesnt have a good mounting point for the sensor either.

I'm sure you could jury rig something with the ring & sensor on their- but the sensor would not be in the optimum position so it either wouldn't function or would function incorrectly...
