Default Can 4 channel axles be used in a 3 channel rear end?

I've done several searches and I have found a lot of answers to many of my questions, but I have a few remaining. I've never done rear end stuff before.

Here's the deal, I have two 6spd Trans Am's. My new daily has a 3 channel rear with at least 1 bent axle. My nice fast TA has a 4 channel rear. What I want to do is replace the good axles in my 4 channel rear with some nice Moser axles...4 channel also of course. I want to then install the good stock 4 channel axles in my other TA with the 3 channel rear that has bent axles.

I've read the only difference between the 2 axles is that the 4 channel ones have a reluctor wheel. Is the reluctor wheel removable? If not, will those axles work in a 3 channel rear? Is there anything else that I should replace when changing the axles?

Yes they'll work fine, and yes you can just pop off the reluctor wheels with a bit of heat and a little even prying, but you wont need to, you can just leave them on... they wont interfere with anything.

Do new Moser axles for 4 channel rear come with the reluctor rings? They have 2 options for axles...3 or 4 channel. The 4 channel costing more. I would think they come with them considering but I'm finding no detailed info for sure.

Axles are the same.
Moser replacement axles do not come with rings. use the rings from existing axles to put on the moser axles.

There is a pic floating around somewhere of the flange area. 4 channel axles have a machined surface for the ring to grab, 3 channels don't, that's the only difference between the two.

I bought some USA Alloy axles. I'm just going to put them in my daily with the bent ones and be done with it. I really don't want to screw around with the reluctor wheels, not to mention twice the work.
