There is a 4.56 thick gear available, you could also use a spacer, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Search the internet for a "7.5 4.56 thick" and you will get some results. Richmond makes them, maybe precision, us gear, motive.

well i just called summit and they carry them 4.56 for 2 series carrier i wouldn't say bye bye to the 10 bolt...it has taken a lot of abuse so far with my current gear...you can always use a little bit more gear

I stand corrected on the gears for 2 series.
I do however agree with the bye bye rear end comments, even 4.10's tend to spell disaster for the 10 bolt, one can only imagine how much worse 4.56's will be.

That's what you have to decide. A 28" slick and 4.56 in an A4 is rough, but it can be done. Personally, I'm doing it to efficiently use my cam's powerband, and also to get a nice Strange rear end. It'll breakeventually, but you'll be surprised at how long you can let it live.
