Get under the the car and look this might not aply to your center section but it did on mine I have a strange scnter section All the support webing you see look under the Tq mount you bolted to the housing is it cocked at all In my direction it stated this would have to be done with all F-body style TQ mounting . It was about .75" of materal that had to be removed it is not a big deal only abotu 2" long and about.75 deep. that might be your problem.

Let me know

Chris

You have a secondary Tq arm mount that has 3 bolts you bolted it to the housing it was a big chunck of steel that chunck of steel will not sit flush because of the webbing designed in to the center section the webing is all the raised steel lines they are there for flex support. those raised steel lines (webbing ) will make contact and with the big chunck of steel you bolted to the housing .

Hope that helps

It self should not cause the prob but you stated it sounded like a hiting noise . Well if the TQ mount is off by a .5" it is not in line and might make contact with your Arm or Pipes

I also have a 9" with a sphon TQ arm and the clearances are tight Look at the instruction that came with the housing it is writen on the sheet.

Go out side and look under the car it will be very simple to see it it is not right .

let me know

My 9" will hit the body when I go over expansion joints. Check for clearance around the torque arm and the back of the drive shaft tunnel, and around the top bolt that holds the torque arm bracket to the rear end.
