Stock driveshaft length on 9 inch or 12 bolt?
I have been researching a rear end change in my car, and have seen that some people sya the 12 bolts have to use a 1310 pinion yoke to use the stock driveshaft without cutting it down a littel.
Is this also true with the 9 inch? I plan on getting a used center section and putting a good posi and maybe changing the gears, do I have to change the Yoke also? Or will the 9 inch with the 1350 yoke work fine on the 9 with stock length DS?
Thanks
Troy

I have a 12 bolt with the 1350 yoke and stock driveshaft length. It is a little tight but shouldnt be a problem. Not sure about the 9".

Cool, thanks guys. Everyone seems to agree no DS length change is neccesary. It must be just a rumor

No rumor on my car. I definitely needed a shorter driveshaft. Maybe if I had adjustable LCA's, I could have move the rear back, but I wanted to upgrade the driveshaft anyway.
It just depends ... some cars need it some don't. Bracket locations, LCA's, and factory tolerances can all make a difference from car to car.

I am using my stock steel driveshaft with my Moser 9", it's fine. But my buddy who got his before me said his stock DS was a wee bit too short.
