Bit of a dilemma - need opinions
So I plan on doing heads/cam in a few months and I'm currently upgrading my drivetrain. I have a textralia clutch sitting in my room and want to upgrade my rear end, driveshaft, t/a, etc. Now I have a choice. There is a 9" center section sitting in my garage that came out of my dad's 69 cougar. He bought it from a place that rebuilds 9" center sections. All I know about it is that it is just that, a rebuilt 9" center section with 4.11 gears and a posi.
Now I can either buy a moser 9" housing and throw the center section in there, or go for a strange dana60. My question is, should I save the money and throw a rebuilt 9" center section into a moser housing or fork out the extra cash and get a whole new rear end complete ready to bolt in? I dont want to have any problems with it, and not really knowing the history of the one sitting in my garage, I'm kinda leaning towards buying a whole new rear. However, its going to be about 1100 using the rebuilt 9" center section and 2300+ for a new dana 60. I want to keep my tcs and abs. Alright, lets here it, convince me.....

I personally would do the DANA 60 just because I have a ton of them laying around and even more in spare parts. However if you already have the center section for the 9" then go with that. Remember that the 9" does have a pinion support bearing and there are tons of aftermarket companies that have anything for it you could imagine. Just my thoughts. I don't like spending alot of money either!!
