Question about '01 camaro SS headlights
I have a question about my '01 SS camaro and the headlights. If i go to start the car during the day and my headlight switch is turned to off my headlights dont come on (normal). But if i turn my car on at night when the switch is off, my headlights come on automaticly. The only thing I can think of is there is some kind of photocell or sensor installed on the car. I have noticed some kind of antenna in the top left of my front windshield but havent traced the wire. It looks like to go down the pilar towards the dash or headlight switch. Any ideas is to what this could be, anyone else have this on their car? Just curious.

This feature is standard issue on all '98-'02 Camaros. It can be disabled if you don't like it (I have it disabled on both of mine).

I have used an additional foglight switch to override mine. Even with auto headlights on, I can hit the switch to kill the headlights without shutting off the car. With the switch on, normal operation.
p.s. look for the little bubble thing in the middle of the top of the dash.

Here are some instructions on how to disable the auto headlights and/or the daytime running lights:

I have used this same proceedure on many F-bodies, it's always worked great.
