I have discovered that one of the nice things which comes with age is not caring what the young and inexperienced crowd thinks of me. They may be laughing at me because they *think* I'm trying to "look cool", but I'll be laughing at them for thinking they have it all figured out, or that I even care.

If you don't like T-tops that's fine, but this reasoning is laughable. What makes you think that any of us in the 35+ crowd are trying to "look cool" or impress any of the kids simply by driving a t-top car? What about a sun roof....do you reach a certain age where you shouldn't be opening it any longer?

I wouldn't say I hate verts. I actually like them when the tops are down on a warm summer day. But I do have three reasons why I don't want one on my f-body.
1). Too heavy. I want my car as light as possible.
2). They don't always look as good when the top is up. I hate when tops are one color and the cars paint is another color.
3). The tracks treat them like they are death traps and require a 5 point roll bar to race even when the car isn't that fast.

I see wtb ads all the time for f bodys and in almost all of them everyone says no verts. I don't get why, I came from a t top car and its better in everyway. No leaky tops, no sail panel bubbling, it rides better and I get way more compliments on it. It's 100 pounds heavier than a t top but honestly all of us don't race every weekend so why not just buy the car to enjoy it?
