Ram air on regular trans am?
I know it is possible to put a ram-air hood on a regular trans am, but is it worth getting a fully functional hood or no? I've been told both, so just need opinions.
Thank you.
Thank you.

In stock configuration, the WS6 hood isn't even true "ram air", since it's not sealed. There used to be a great kit that you could buy to seal the hood to the air box and better channel the air flow through the scoops (made by Brian Greene), but those have been out of production for many years.
You are definitely better off with an aftermarket ram air than with the stock hood in the stock configuration.

I do not agree. My 98 was just a regular trans am to begin with but it had a ram air kit installed (before I bought it) and so of course I did my research on it and found that a typical, correctly installed, ram air kit can add about 17 HP. If you combine that with a H/C/I set up you'll be looking at a triple digit increase in power.

*When combined with a complete heads/cam/intake setup
Haha. Not sure how that has anything to do with the original question of this thread, but good to know.

"Research" based on what you find on Teh Interwebzes
is as worthless as can be.
The math says forget about "ramming". Just get it cool.
You could do that pretty well with a little weatherstripping
and a steak knife. But that doesn't move product.
