Steve Slavik @ Lunati recommended it to me if I wanted just a very slight lope but still a hot street cam.

I understand that you want a stealthy sounding cam here, but you will be severly limiting the power output of that setup. Why not go with a better cam, and just tone down the lope with having the idle a tad higher from the tune, and setup the exhaust to drown out some of that chop from the cam then. Personally that's what i'd do if I was in your shoes

Steve Slavik @Lunati should find a new job. Call Martin Smallwood @Tick Performance for a custom cam thats not way to small. That cam would be considered a baby can for a 346 much less a 408.

On a big stroker like that, maybe something in the low 600 lift range, low 230 to low 240 duration, and maybe a 112-114 LSA. This is what I would choose...at bare minimum! You have to remember a larger cam in a bigger cubed motor will be more docile than that same cam in a smaller cubed motor. So basically what i'm saying is that you can run a much bigger cam than the one you have listed above, and still have great drivability and good low to midrange power, all because you have the cubes to offset the difference This is just my opinion of course...and like I said the tune and choice in exhaust can make a larger cam sound more tame if that's what you desire as well

Thanks,
Is a cam and spring swap something I could do myself in a couple days and about how long if I also do some LS6 heads? What else do I need before having it tuned? Your opinion on Headers? What size injectors? What plugs?
I don’t want to miss anything but I hate to put to much money into this car knowing that I’m thinking of buying a vette and it’s not a main driver.

You can do a cam swap in less than a day if you want to As far as headers go its really down to your budget. You can get some Kook's headers with a 3" collector and run true duals or a ORY setup with a cutout. 80lbs injectors will be good for that 408ci. Tr6 plugs can do the job.

Last but not least... Get a custom cam! Lol Call Martin @ Tick Performance.

Thanks for the kind words guys, but I'm sure the guys at Lunati had their reasons for specifying the cam they did.

We don't all see eye to eye on cam specs!

That cam should make enough torque to blow the tires off. Should make a healthy street cam but not a race setup. If you're looking for big HP then forget about that cam.
