You are going to get 100s and 100s of different answers. If you search this forum, you will find many different combos including dyno sheets and track times. Best thing to do is call Texas speed and talk to them about your goals and expectations for your car.

Hi-jacker
Hello Nate : I would like to apologize for hi-jacking. I am going to punch a LS2 to 454 cu. in. I wanted to purchase a PRC 285 set of Heads and a sheet metal intake, both from PRC. They have a tall and short set of sheet metal intakes. I wanted to know if the ports are mating up perfectly. thx, what's your opinion.

FWIW, Comp Cams LSK lobe (Torquer V3 intake lobes) is a poor choice for a street car, even though it makes good power. Has a very aggressive lobe profile and beats-up valvetrain rather quickly, especially if lightweight valves aren't used. This is why Comp Cams warns on their website that the LSK lobes are for racing use only and not recommended for street use. Would be nice if TSP would warn/notify their customers about that when recommending cams to them.

Comp Cam
Hello Cowboy, I'm very new at this. I bought a MS3 Comp cam from TSP. It was label for dragstrip, but I wanted all I could get. I backed off to a 112 lobe, but it is still very aggressive and makes great power. Is this a cam that would be hard on a set of 243 Heads for LS6 with light weight valves. Can you recommend something mean with a 114 lobe. thx

What else consists of your valvetrain? I had that exact heads and cam setup once with .675 lift dual springs & heavy stainless steel 2.02/1.57 valves. I LOVED IT too until I found out it caused valve float at peak rpm's and intake valve springs started failing after a whopping ~6k miles. For a 99% street car, it was a garbage setup prone to failure.

MS3 Cam
Hello Cowboy, I have Comp 921 springs, Lunati 72532 lifters, Yella Terra Platinum 640 rockers. Power is great, but I do not enjoy driving a race car. I just assumed that I could get bye on 112 lobes by-passing the 110 lobes for the big boys. I am considering a down-tuned 454 or just buying a C7, too much noise, too strong a clutch and too much rear end in the present Camaro.

Yeah it wasn't until after the fact when I spoke to a bunch of LS cam experts and heard what their thoughts were of my previous setup. One thing every one of them said in common was they would never spec an LSK lobe for a street car.
