ticking noise

Default ticking noise

i developed more of a ticking noise today after i switche to german castro o30w from regular 10w30 also i put in lucas oil stabilizer .do i need a thicker oil or what

All the time, or just when the engine is cold? Could be some piston slap.

almost 95k and it was just when i first started it but when i changed the oil its a lifter noise should i go with a thicker oil to quiten them down

i could be wrong but i thought german castrol was one of the thicker oils, if you go to thick it will rob horsepower and wont have good flow when cold
