Default turn signals not working

Ok, on Thursday my left front turn signal went out. I replaced it with a 3157NA/4157NA. All was well and in working order. On Friday, my right turn signal stopped working but for some reason, the bulb was still lighting perfectly fine. Today, around an hour ago, the left one stopped working again and the bulb in that one was still lighting fine. I pulled the fuses and they are good. None are blown. So I can't figure this out for the life of me. The signals will run like a delayed signal. They blink slow as hell. Like when one goes out, but they will still blink. I hope it's not a wiring problem. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Probably the blinker itself.

when i had a problem with a slow blinking it was the bulb itself, it wasnt making a full contact

i would put my turnsignal on, and the light in the car would stay solid for about 5 seconds, then start blinking, and other times it would blink very slowly

the weird thing is that when i put the 4 ways on, everything worked perfect.

i would first check the bulbs, unplug them and reseat them, if it still does it, try replacing the flasher, it costs like $5

Where in the dash is the flasher located? And where can I get one? Generic auto parts store? Or do I have to go to the stealership?

I think it is behind the panel underneath the steering wheel. Two screws, watch the wire going to the hatch release button (it unplugs just don't want to yank it). It isn't anything special, most auto parts stores should have one.

Yea, was just reading after searching flasher. If I can't get tot it, I'm gonna have to ghetto rig myself back to base and just manually cycle them on and off lol.

Ok, well I just replaced the flasher with an electronic on. The rear turn signals work at normal speed but the front ones still won't flash. Any ideas? Oh, and I replaced the burnt out one with an EL12 electronic one. Could the problem be that it's not the thermal one?

So wait, you replaced the flasher unit, so the rears flash but the front do nothing? Both sides in the front? Do they flash when you turn on the hazards?

Nope, both sides of the front don't flash. And they don't flash with the hazards either. But yea, the rears couldn't be better.

Check the bulbs. Would seem weird that both would go bad at the same time but I've seen stranger things happen.

Already did. They light when I have the headlights on, or just the foglamps. But other than that, no dice.

Well they have 2 filaments, a dimmer one for running lights and a brighter one for flashers. I'd suspect maybe a socket issue too but both sides bad? Might be that as well I suppose. Are the sockets cooked at all?

****, maybe I got a single filament bulb? I mean, it said 3157, but I didn't actually look for the second filament come to think of it. The sockets look like *** but it looks like caked up dielectric grease. Any tips on how to clean it out?

Ok, now the bulb in the left front isn't lighting anymore. Could it be that it's getting too much power?

Not lighting anymore? Bad bulb or socket. My guess is socket, common issue with these cars. It isn't too much power or anything if it was you'd be blowing up a bunch of stuff, not just a failed bulb

You can find replacement sockets at autozone, advance auto, etc.. just look in the aisle for a standard GM socket. It won't have colored wires on it so you'll have to make sure to connect it correctly. I just did 1 wire at a time so I wouldn't get them mixed up. I had to replace both my front sockets on my Camaro recently.
