reverse lights not working

Default reverse lights not working

I notice last night when I put the car in reverse that the lights did not go on, all other lights work...brake, signal but no back up. I popped out one of the lens and check the bulb and it wasn't burnt out I haven been able to check the other due to it raining does anyone know what might have cause this?

The bulb may look good, but could still be bad. Also check the fuse for the backup lights.

If a bulb fails shorted (very rare), you will blow a fuse.

the fuses located near the driver door correct??

there is a reverse light switch on the tranny, if you have a manual, right side of tranny housing for V8's and left for V6's. If you have a auto it will be located inside the console and it is probably out of adjustment. If you have a haynes manual look in chapter 7.

well the rain let off finally and I check the fuses and they all look fine, all my bulbs are fine too so what gives

well I jack'ed up the car a located the reverse light switch on the tranny Ill have it checked out tomorrow

I had same on my a4. The bulbs looked good but both were out.

I doubt its reverse light switch, start with easy things first.

Stop by autozone n pick up the bulbs before you do anything else.

Its $5 a pair.

I had the same issue. It was the reverse switch on the tranny. Easy to replace.
