Crappy headlights on my bird...
Ok, I need some suggeations. Since buying the bird 3 years ago I have gone through several individual lights and replaced the harness. The problem I am having is the connector is melting. I think water is causing the connector to short out and burn out the bulb. Has anyone ever had this problem? Is it possible to convert to a different connector? This is driving me crazy.

If a connector is melting then you need to make sure the connection is watertight and has a good ground.
I had this problem with my DRL/Turn signal markers. Replace the bulb housing that was letting water in and re-grounded a new pigtail. problem fixed there.

If your connector is melting, this means the contacts might be arcing... need to clean them and reform the terminals so that they make good contact with the pins on the sealed beam bulb.

i read something somewhere saying that the alternator regulator could be putting out to much voltage. could that be a reason that its melting, cuz im having the same problem on both headlights..... im buying the lmc housing an some new hids an i dont want to melt the new bulbs an have to keep buying them like i do now. so could i just make a new ground for them and fix it? or am i gonna have to run all new wires?
