Default Rain=Sqeaking pulley?

it was raining yesterday and today. yesterday either my power steering pulley or my alternator pulley (both new) squeaks when it rains (humidity im sure). it stopped squeaking today once the rain had stopped for a while. how do i find out which one it is and how do i stop it i.e. greasing bearings if possible i dunno. it very loud and annoying i wanna stop it. like i said its only when its rains or a lil while afterwards. what to do....

I know its on the drivers side area which is why I thought it was the power steering or the alternator. Are there any idler pulleys on that side that would make more since how do I check if that's definitely it

It doesn't squeak anymore. Only when it rains.

How do the belts look? I would look at them first.

Mine used to squeal when it rained, it will keep getting worse. I replaced all 4 and no more squeaks. And yeah there is a black donut looking pulley on the drivers side near the PS pulley.

it could be the AC tensioner/belt as well, its more likely to get wet. Put a little soap on the belt and see if it stops.. it not then its prolly the other belt.

You could try belt dressing but I am betting it's a pulley. The pulleys have cheap grease in them and go bad often, especially the lower one that gets water and grime splashed up on it or into it. You can buy new ones or repack the grease as shown here https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...r-pulleys.html . I would check the bottom ones first.

My belt squeaksreally lightly when it rains or is humid out. I looked and it was where the markings were on the belt going on the water pump lol

I will check to see if there is wear on the belts and I might try new grease
