Default FOB will unlock one side, but not the other?

Hey guys, like the title states my passengerside door lock works with the FOB or key, but the driverside is key only. What part do I need to order to get the lock to work again?

Does the door unlock with the unlock button on the door? I'm think your door lock actuator has gone bad. If the door lock button on the door wont unlock the drivers door, I would look at replacing the lock actuator.

Nope, the button won't unlock or lock it either, only manual function. I can apparently get the actuator for $50 so I'll be ordering that, thanks!

I have a problem sort of like that. My door unlocks, but doesn't seem powerful enough to lock.. Trying to figure out how to get it fixed in one shot.

You are pressing twice to get the passenger's unlock,
right?

Just pressing it once would lock/unlock the drivers door. The problem is with the drivers door.

When you electronically lock your vehicle with any door open, transmission in park (P) and your vehicle switched off, the system will search for an intelligent access key in the passenger compartment after you close the last door. If the system finds a key, all of the doors will immediately unlock and the horn sounds twice, indicating that a key is inside.
When you open one of the front doors and lock your vehicle using the power door lock control, all doors will lock then unlock if your vehicle is switched on.

This is an old thread and I'm sure the OP has fixed his lock issue by now. Anyway, none of your post applies to these cars. No intelligent access keys, just dumb keys with a resistor chip for the anti-theft system.

Why is this forum being bombarded with fake accounts talking about locks and keys all of a sudden? Is there some new locksmith spam that they need to test out before launching it on Facebook?

Didn't you ever see the movie, Men in Black? Locksmiths are aliens:

FOB will unlock one side, but not the other?-ahzpl.jpg

This may just be a prelude to an invasion.

They're coming ... and they're starting with 4 generation F-body VATS systems.

But didn't it turn out to be the dog that was the alien in that case?

Good point. I probably need to brush up. With a new MIB coming out this summer... I guess I'll have the chance!
