Default Burnt oil smell

After i get on it a little bit and then slow down, i smell burnt oil sometimes. I checked my oil and its gone down a little bit. Not very much... No oil on my garage floor.

Any Ideas??

Next thing to check would be blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. Blue smoke when reving the engine=rings. Blue smoke when leaving the car in gear, getting to high RPMs, and letting off the gas usually means valve seals. Then again, oil could be entering the inake from the PCV system as well.

I was gonna say valve seals too. PCV is my second guess. could be rings too since it's after hard runs (obviously you aren't going to smell it while moving but if you come to a stop with a tailwind blowing, you'll smell it.)

Check to see if your PCV system is working correctly before doing anything else. The catch can is a worth while investment.

UPDATE: I havent driven the car that much. Today i was going to do my clutch fluid (Ranger Method) and was moving a hose out of the way when i saw that the PCV hose that wraps around the back of the intake manifold from the drivers side valve cover was broken completely off.

My car does the same thing with a catch can. I think mine is just built up carbon.I dont run my car as hard as i should.Crank on it a few times and the smell goes away.

My car does the same thing. I checked the PCV itself and it was fine. I guess I need to check all the lines.
