Coolant overflow remix. =|
Here's a tricky one.
My coolant is boiling over through my rez. I've replaced upper and lower radiator hoses, new rez cap and new radiator cap, along with a new 186deg. thermo.
im still getting the problem
I'm wondering if it is possible that im not getting a good seal on my rezivour due to the actual rezivor threads. I noticed that when it over flows the flow is only on the back side of the rez. cap. Also i noticed that in that same spot there appears to be a small endintion/notch on the actual rezivour threads. Would this be able to still cause an overflow? I dont really think it should but now im desprate so im checking out all possiblilitys.
I'll have pics of it up momentarily
thanks in advance fellas
EDIT: No way it could be the radiator rez threads. ugh.

no, car isnt running hot. thats what is confusing me.
its venting out the radiator rezivour cap.
a couple people have suggested a bad head gasket but ive checked my oil after running it and its fine, no white or anything. (i was told if there was a white hue to the oil its a good way to tell if the head gasket is bad)
edit: OH i might add, it only does this when im driving around town, every weekend or so i drive 3 hours up north on the highway and dont have this problem at all, just when im daily driving around town

Have you checked the fluid level. I read before that you fill it up. If you filled it up then the natural cycle of the fluid in and out of the radiator is going to over flow it. Thats why it has a hot and cold level on it. Also have you bled the system since it started doing this?

also, i never fill the rezivour...it just has the cap. i threw away the dip stick thinggy when i bought a new cap =(

dont mix the green and orange . if its been flushed good id use green not that orange is bad or anything but it tends to not respond to air well and turns to a clay like substance. either will work fine aslong as you dont mix them.

You guys are bleeding the hard way.
Put a small paper towel underneath the small tube that comes out underneath the right side of the throttle body (it comes from under the intake manifold). Pull the rubber tube off and hold your thumb over the opening, and open the radiator cap. Fill it through the radiator and all of the air pushes right out of that metal tube. When a steady stream of coolant comes out of the tube, remove your thumb from the rubber side and push it back together. Top off radiator and put the cap on. Start it briefly, top off radiator again, and that's it.
If you do not bleed you will overheat!!

WELL! Low and behold. Im bleeding my coolant and notice the thermostat pops open "ok there's a good sign" coolant level drops a 1/3 so i start to fill it back up "wait a second" right about then i notice neither of my fans have kicked on...."oh sh..." poof. radiator fluid fountain. Apparently both my fans or my relay or somehting is shot so ill be diagnosing that tonight/tomorrow. The fluid boiled in the radiator but the cap held the pressure so naturally it overflowed and boiled out of my rezavour. lol, all that time, replacing everything and i never noticed my fans not kicking on oh well, at least i know the problem now.
thanks everyone
