might see what kind of motor and tranny mounts you have.

Is it based on speed or RPM? Could be either alignment, tranny mount, or motor mounts

I would say motor mounts. Look at them and see if they are aftermarket. From my experience, tranny mounts won't effect the steering wheel. But I would change the tranny mount hoping that it fixes it because motor mounts are not fun to replace.
Does it vibrate while revving it in Neutral?

Motor mounts are not all that difficult to change. I would change them.

Yeh unfortunately it sounds like motor mounts. I've done mounts with a friend twice and it isn't TOO bad. It's basically a header job.

Motor mounts are easy to check. Put the car in 1st, hold the brakes and ease the clutch out without stalling it. Have a friend watch the engine for excessive rock. Do the same thing in reverse. I can tell you from experience the motor mount on F-body's are NOT fun to replace, even doing it in a fully equipped garage with a lift.

You should not be getting excessive vibration in the wheel and shifter at idle. I have poly mounts all the way around and I don't have a problem. I'd be concerned that they didn't balance the pressure plate and flywheel when they did the clutch or that a bolt could be working its way out of the pressure plate. Taking a look at the tranny mount couldn't hurt.

My car has alot of vibration on the steering column and shifter when I am at around 1200-1300 rpm!!! Below or above 1200-1300 rpm it smoothes out. what gives? anyone else have a similiar problem? thanks. I dont think its the motor mounts.
