Make a 75,000 mile car like new again?
I'm just about at 75,000 miles and it just doesnt feel like it should.
I've got Koni shocks, they helped.
I've got new rubber rear control arm bushings
I've got a good alignment, fresh tires.
I'm about to replace my rear wheel bearings, I think new bearings will solve some of my problems.
But what other items are likely to be in need of replacement?
What are some things you've done to your cars that really made a difference?
Any and all tips and comments welcome...
Thanks

engine is running good. Im more interested in things like
"I noticed a surprising difference when I put new ball joints in"
or
"I couldn't believe what a difference a new transmission mount made"
you know, small things like that that made a noticeable difference

What you have done and
new gm rubber tranny mount.
new ES poly front and rear sway bar and end-link bushings.
Clean MAF with MAF spray.
Clean TB and intake with TB spray
New Dexron III tranny fluid and filter
New Synthetic differential fluid.
Check brakes for wear and proper slider action... flush and bleed brake fluid.
Check for worn front-end parts... get a goood alignment from a shop that does more than a quick toe and go....

why dexron III? is it safer to use rather than synthetic tranny fluid? a mechanic was telling me that it was better than syn for these transmissions. but he was a mechanic so we all know how they can bend the truth to get a sale.

dont want to put synthetic fluid in a high milage car. same with using royal purple on a high milage car, it even says on their bottle. it may start leaking oil from places it never did before becuase it's so slippery. for the tranny, with it being so slippery all the friction plates will slide past each other and eat em up FAST. just stick to the DexIII

good to know. would you consider 116,xxx high mileage? i think i'll just stick to the III until i get a new tranny. kinda like mine for now! already switched the engine over to amsoil and it hasn't developed a leak yet at least not that drips on the ground.
