convertible leaks
ok i have an 01 camaro vert... anytime it rains i have a freaking monsoon coming in BOTH doors.... from what i see the leak comes in the front corner of each window where the two weatherstrips meet and ALSO in the rear corners of the windows where the other two seals meet..... do i need just an adjustment or new seals.... please help me fellas... ive tried the search but not much to go on...... btw i did the dollar bill check and it seemed to be a tight fit..... sooo where do i go from here?....

i havent adjusted them... will the post by shbox on the 3rd gen adjustments work on our 4th gen?..... the window seems tight on the weatherstrips.... im at a loss....

thanks for the write up ill give it a shot sunday..... also what can i use to soften or swell the seals... ive heard dielectric grease but will it swell them to help them seal?

I've heard that before. I wouldn't think it will make a big difference. If you could post a pic of where it's leaking I could point you in a better direction. How bad is it leaking? It's not uncommon for Camaro verts and t-tops leak lol!

i can ake a pic tommorow but its in the front corners where the top meets the windshield/door weatherstrip..... the very front corners of the vert top.... also in the rear window corners...... basically that side cushion next to your head.... its about 2 feet long and straight... it leaks on either side of that piece at the top..... im assuming where the window meets weatherstrip.... or where the seams of the different weatherstrips meet on the convertible top....

Yea.. hmm.. I'd say try and get some pics up. It sounds like you either need a window adjustment, the top isn't closing right or a combination of both. I doubt your weather stripping is bad cause the car is not that old. But I could be wrong.

they are in batn rouge off of mammoth ave..... they quoted me 850 for the top without new glass and 1100 with new glass..... my glass is good so im gonna do the 850.... takes 2 days to ship it to them and they need 2 days for install.... ive heard great things about them though

Im having the same problem now too. What was the fix for you? the window or the top? Mine is just on the driver side and it is a waterfall, im worried that the water might damage a guage. Can the tops be moved? where and how?
