I put a new battery and cables about 2 years ago, well I tryed a couple of trys, the dash light goes on and I even see the sercurity light goes on to but nothing when you turn the key well I sat for a few minutes ( called AAA ) I went and hit the battery and check the connections ( everything looked good ) well I went in and turned the key and it started :-)
after I got to work I turned it off and started it a few times and no problem it stated everytime..

I just went thru a starting problem like this with my 01 WS6 , I thought I had a bad starter. Well I went and bought a new ignition relay and have had no starting problems for a week so far.

If you have trouble with your VATS, like the key pellet falling out or going bad, the car should start and run fine after sitting for about 10 min. The assumtion is that a car thief will not sit in a stolen car that long to try and restart the car.

So that is probably the problem.

I am with 01WS6A4, try the ignition relay first. It is located in the fuse/relay box under the hood; as a test, you can swap it with the relay that is plugged in next to it (I think its the fan relay). If this allows the starter to engage, its an easy fix to buy a new relay.

It seems like this is a common problem.
