Throttle Body Coolant Bypass PICS!
Hey guys, Since I got my Ported throttle body back from Spartan performance, I went ahead and did the throttle body coolant bypass. I was scared to do it at first but I jumped in and it was cake! I went to Kragen and bought 2ft of 5/16" coolant tubing, two worm clamps, and zip ties. I ran the tubing along where you see in the last pic and clamped each end to the corresponding place it needed to go. At first I didn't have the zip tie, but the tubing was a little close to the pulleys for me so I used one zip tie to hold it back a bit. It cost about $5.33 for the parts and took me roughly 6-7min. Hope this helps anyone who had questions about how to do this or where to run the tubing. You'll see in the last pic there is a little protective sheath on the middle of the tubing. I just put that there from the old tubing, thought it couldn't hurt! The red line shows where the tubing is routed, and the red circle is where I used the one zip tie.

Apparently you didnt here the one bout the guys who tried the bypass, but when they hooked it up they hooked it to a vacuum line. They did realize it til they had drove it several miles, im sure you can imagine how that one turned out.

this mod keeps engine temperature water from "warming" up the throttle body, which in turn warms the air entering the intake manifold. It's required for emissions, however, it doesn't hurt to bypass it, your car will still pass a smog test, and it also allows cooler air to enter the intake, which will gain you a few horsepower.
