magnaflow or hooker catback?
I'm considering a new catback for my 99 z/28. I really like the magnaflow but I have heard the hooker is better for the money. I dont like the tips on the magnaflows either. My car is completely stock so both will be pretty tame. I have also read the magnaflow is too quiet. so I'd like to get a second opinion on which one to get. magnaflow or hooker catback? I have narrowed it down to one or the other. any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Thanks

Both are very good catbacks. The Hooker is mild steel which allows it to be signifigantly cheaper than the Magnaflow. Also note, the Magnaflow is available with tips VERY similar to the dual dual Corsa tips. They look almost identical...

I think the Magnaflow catback tip look best on the camaro's
I like the magnaflow better for being stainless steel, Hooker is aluminized steel and is very heavy.
heres my car when it had heads and cam but you get the idea
heres my car with the hooker, cam only cut out opens at the end

Magnaflow here! No reason not to get stainless, at least that's how I think.
BlueKnight: Are those the tips that came on the catback when you ordered it? Cause mine definitely aren't rolled.

i have a magnaflow and its pretty quiet. even being cammed + longtubes+ ory u can bearly notice my cam lope. i think the magnaflow has a smooth, crisp kinda sound.
but i do like the hooker catback. i hear its not that loud, but i think it has a deeper rumble than magnaflow. both are very good catbacks. ive tossed around the idea of going with something louder..lol..

I love my Hooker setup. Given it isn't stainless, it is a great catback. It all depends on whether you want stainless or not. IMO it sounds fantastic at WOT (NO rasp from ARH 1-3/4 / ORY) & it's very mellow when you're not.
Both catbacks are excellent for the money. It comes down to personal preferences...
