Just wanting to know if you can use a truck 5.3 water pump on a ls1 based motor is it the same.

I think the only difference is the upper radiator hose.

i know the upper radiator outlet is different. im not sure if the pulley is correct.

yea hoping had a buddy of mine his went out and we had one laying around and just wanted to know the neck is different but could adapt that.

pulley should stick out too far.. tried using the car waterpump with my turck accessories and they are WAY off.... and the upper outlet hits the throttle blade.

yeah the accessories on the truck stick out farther. it wont work with the rest of your stuff.

Assuming you had the Fbody pulley pressed on to cover the bracket alignment, this would still be your problem

Even with DBW which is smaller in that area than a cable TB, you wont clear


If you have the earlier style, you're even worse off
